Jim Nixon
National Air Traffic Services (NATS)
Jim Nixon currently works in human factors at NATS, formerly National Air Traffic Services. He is involved with the design of next generation air traffic control systems and the evaluation of air traffic controller performance when using new systems. His interests include the development and validation of quantitative indicators for situation awareness, workload and user acceptance of new systems. He also has interests in the derivation of objective measures of performance and safety across air traffic control. Dr Nixon holds qualifications in psychology and human factors. His doctoral research examined the how different types of spatial information affect navigation performance.
