Human factors in information assurance - Personnel security meets HR policy and practice

Speaker from the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure

All too often there are tensions between IA, security and HR policies and procedures - with the inevitable consequence that the employee finishes up at best confused and at worst engages in counterproductive behaviour. "Human factors in information assurance - personnel security meets HR policy and practice" will give an overview of CPNI's methodology and good practice guidance. This is primarily aimed at the reduction of vulnerability to the insider threat in the national infrastructure. But the presentation will explore how it is proving increasingly of interest more widely in IA and HR circles. It will focus on cultural change and will consider how the use of common language and a single set of policies can present a coherent message to the employee.
